Michael C. referred to our ten provinces and three "Districts" They're not "Districts" they're territories. The provinces are: British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, Ontario, Quebec, New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, Prince Edward Island and Newfoundland (and) Labrador. The Territories are the Yukon, Northwest Territories, and Nunavut

A province is a large self-governed area within the dominion of Canada. There are 10 provinces and three territories. Provinces are like states, except they are much larger. Ontario is a province. There are many counties within a province. Ontario is home to the Canadian capital city of Ottawa, but the capital of Ontario is Toronto. .

"Hi"…..In Canada, being a sovereign nation just like yours (the U.S.A ) we have it broken down into different areas that we call "Provinces" !

In your country you call them "States" hence the name "The United States of America" !

We have 10 Provinces in Canada and also 3 Territories{corrected} ( they are like apprectice Provinces *lol* ) which are way, way , up North and each of our Provinces has a capital city as well as our Territories !

Here’s a very good map of North America which shows Canada located above ( North of ) the U.S.A and you can clearly see each Province and the Territory and the major cities in them !

Listed alphabetically the ten provinces are Alberta, British Columbia, Manitoba, New Brunswick, Newfoundland and Labrador, Nova Scotia, Ontario, Prince Edward Island, Quebec, and Saskatchewan, while the three territories are Northwest Territories, Nunavut, and the Yukon territories !

In your question you asked if Ontario was a Province and you can see on the map that "yes" it is and you also see where Ottawa, Ontario is located which happens to be the Capital of Canada !

A province is like a state in the US. It has its own government, and can make its own laws if they have jurisdiction in that area.
Ontario is a province, unless you are talking about the city of Ontario in Ohio.
