Any suggestions on where to take a nice beach holiday near Kuala Lumpur during the first week of September?

<< What is the wealthiest neighborhood in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia? Would it be possible to take a train ride from Kuala Lumpur to Singapore? >>We will be in KL until Sept 4. Then we have 3 days of vacation left before we must be in Bangkok to catch a flight home on the 8th. We would like to find a nice beach where we can relax, snorkel, kayak and eat well. We would like to stay in a moderate priced place, maybe a beach hut. We want to avoid places that are experiencing monsoons, and it must be easy to get to from KL, and easy to get from the beach to Bangkok. We will also have children with us, so we want a place that is low key and not such a party spot. Does anyone have any suggestions???
Go to Kuantan.the " BEST " beach in Malaysia. ( one of ) .

hi..i suggest Port Dickson.it so nearby with KL n KLIA..
a lot of hotels/resort but this beach not suitable for snorkel..
Others activities is suit.Many accomodation and easy excess.
It suitable for family gathering.
If you want snorkel mb you can choose islands like Pangkor in Perak.May be others island quite far from KL.

port dickson is your spot. there are various activites like a banana boat, snorkilingand other stuff
