Which is better, Malaysia or Thailand?

I would avoid Thailand for the time being due to their polical instability. Malaysia is safer. Both Penang & Langkawi are good spots for water sports and spa treatments. Especially Langkawi.

sorry, dunno about spa treatments and water sports, but if u want relax in nice beach, i think thailand better..but dont go to pattaya..its too crowded..phuket ok..try to go to koh phi phi or other small island around phuket like racha yai, etc..ko nang yuan also very nice..

I thought phuket was really nice in Thailand because of the beaches and stuff. If you go to Phuket then there is a really nice hotel called the Royal Palms and it was very beautiful (beggers come in to the hotel though!) But Pattaya is crowed but nice too

The political situation in Thailand isn’t as unstable as a previous poster commented on, which means you aren’t likely to have any issues in Thailand. Phuket and Koh Samui are well-known locations in Thailand for spas and water sports (consider them better than Pattaya), and there are other locations (Krabi) where you can experience the same thing.
