My wife loves batu feringhi beach so much we had our honeymoon there and would love to buy a place there to stay in a couple times each year.

Foreigners can buy freely buy any residential property in Malaysia that cost RM 250,000 and above except those build on 'Malay Reserved Land' (developed places in Malaysia are mostly non-reserved).
New properties build near the Ferringhi area are mostly condominiums, average price of RM400k – 1 million for a 2 to 3-bedroom apartment with sea view. Bungalows go from RM 800,000 to 4 million. The most popular website for property shopping here is www.iproperty.com.my
You may also want to apply for the 10-year visa under the Malaysia My Second Home program. This website contains some good information http://www.destinyhomes.com.my/
