Is it possible to drive to Penang and ferry my car across to Langkawi? how much will it cost?

I'm planning a trip during december with my friends and was wondering if it is better to bring our own cars across to langkawi or rent cars there. which would be cheaper ?

if you want to ferry your car, too much paperwork, and takes about 3 days to get your car there (vice versa)

There are a lot of locals renting their car.
Most locals have their own resort and in the same time provide cars for daily rent.

If you're going on December, during school holiday I presume, one day car rental (proton wira) can cost ranging about RM80 to RM120, depending on how you bargain the price.

I should say, rent car rather than bringing you own.
Call any local owned resort , negotiate the price and do your booking.

    yeah im with zeeda..
you can take a flight to langkawi (flight tickets are affordable nowadays, ie. air asia)
upon reaching the airport, there are many car rental booths at the baggage pick up hall..don't agree to the first offered price.
    bargain,bargain,bargain!
hubby and i rented a kancil for rm 200 for 6 days..

  4. its possible to send your car acros langkawi.. but i dont recommend to..why? its quite hassle& it takes a while..

i suggest u drop your car in Kuala Kedah or Kuala Perlis & carry on renting a car in langkawi.. its not that expensive anyway.. cheaper that way..
